My DAP1320 extender behaves in a peculiar way - if I set the SSID in the Extended WiFi settings the same as my existing router's WiFi (eg, "HOMEWIFI"), my client (both Samsung Galaxy Tab3 & iPhone 4s) keeps dropping/reconnecting to the WiFi.
However, if I set the SSID in the Extended WiFi to a different name (eg, "HOMEWIFI-EXT"), it works fine!
I connect to the router's "HOMEWIFI" when it's within range, and disconnect when out of range and then connect to "HOMEWIFI-EXT" (as I'm within range of the extender).
A speedtest done when connected to either SSIDs showed decent speed.
Both the router and extender are about 15 feet apart, but around a corner.
To get into more detail:
1) Router
- Cisco Linksys E1000
- Firmware Version: 2.1.02
- Network Mode: Mixed
- Channel Width: 20Mhz only
- Channel: Auto
- Security Mode: WPA2 Personal
2) Network Extender:
- D-Link DAP1320
- Hardware Version: A2
- Firmware Version: 1.21
- Security Mode: WPA/WPA2-Personal
I can have 2 SSIDs ("HOMEWIFI" and "HOMEWIFI-EXT"), but would preferably have only 1 SSID.
Please help!

- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
- 2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N on the main host router?
- Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz on the main host router.

Hi FurryNutz,
Changing the Channel Width to "Auto 20/40Mhz" appears to have solved the issue.
I've tried changing the Network Mode, but it didnt seem to have any effect, so I had set it back to "Mixed".
I'll continue to monitor in the next few days - thanks!
Regarding the other info you had requested:
- I'm not sure if this was the Hardware Version, but it was the only thing on the sticker that had a "V", and it said V2.1 (not sure if it refers to the Hardware or Firmware version)
- the Firmware version (as per the web page) is 2.1.02
- I'm in the AsiaPac region

Ok, Try single mode N if you can get a chance later on.
Let us know how it goes....
