Title: Root folder write permissions
Post by: Morphic on August 25, 2014, 05:25:45 AM
Hi I'm having problems being able to write to my root folder of my HD via SMB share in windows. I can upload files to it via web gui fine but in windows network share I can't write to it. I can create a folder in web gui then write to that though.

I read somewhere to use the setup application to map the drive however I already have data on the drive and don't particularly want to format it again...

What are your user and group settings for the CIFS (SAMBA) service?

I've tried with users and without. I have read write access to all set:

Share Name :   Volume_1
Path :   Volume_1
Read Only :   -
Read / Write :   All Accounts
Deny Access :   -
Oplocks :   Yes
Map Archive :   No
Comment :
Recycle :   No

Ok I suck. I think it may have been having the root mapped in funplug/debian. Changed permissions in /mnt now I can write to it. Sorry for wasting your time!
