Title: D-Link DGS-1100-16
Post by: sierra7 on August 25, 2014, 06:07:31 AM
I am looking to use a D-Link DGS-1100-16 Smart Switch to connect a number of PC’s and peripherals together and internet connectivity from a router. I want to be able to segregate (make invisible) some computers from others presumably by setting up a Vlan. My question is can this Smart Switch provide internet connectivity provided by the router input to all computers including the segregated Vlan computers?

Thank you

I just purchased this switch to do exactly what you are describing.  I do happen to know that this switch WILL do what you want, I just don't know how exactly to get it to do this.

I am currently seeking help with VLAN configuration.  Did you end up purchasing the switch?

My plan is to as it ticks a number of other boxes but I would like some conformation it will segregate computers but still share internet connectivity. So please let me know how you get on. Thank you
