You need your email account settings that you use at home...either the POP or IMAP email settings and the user account name and PW...Input those into the log email settings on the router...

Hello FurryNutz,

thanks for the reply.

HW version: B1
Firmware version: 2.07NA

I am using gmail account and it has 2-step verification for security.  So I generate a specific password for the router log.  Maybe I specify something incorrectly....

Enable Email Notification = Checked
From Email Address =  <my gmail address>@gmail.com
To Email adress = <some email address>
SMTP server = smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Server Port = 465
Enable Authentication = Checked
Password = <password generated by gmail 2-step verification>
Verify password = <password generated by gmail 2-step verification>

Hi,

also try using SMTP Server Port 587 instead of 465. If both ports don't work, maybe DIR-825 does not support SSL/TLS/STARTTLS! In this case try SMTP Server Port 25 (where password is transmitted in plain text!), but maybe this is no longer supported by Google. In this case take a mail provider who still supports SMTP via port 25 and use this mail account only for the single purpose to send the router log ...

Is gmail your actual ISP provider at home or its it something else?
Who is your ISP provider?

We have seen some of these older generation routers not handle TLS/SSL correctly. Mine used to until my provider went from a standard generic POP email program to googles TLS program. Now it doesnt' work.  :-\
