Hi,
Recently I asked my ISP to make my connection an always on connection and since then I am running this router 24/7.
AFAIK routers are designed to run 27/7.
Problem is when I log in to the admin page the first page loads quickly but when I click on any link within that page
it takes quite a long time to respond.
I tried restarting the router but same thing. The router is by no means overheating coz its completely cold.
What's going wrong ? Is this model too low end to run 24/7 ?

- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

Did ^^ the above and the interface is fast again. Then I re enabled all those settings and the page was still fast.
I cleared the cache and cookies in FF but it was still slow. I deliberately didn't disable any addon coz even if that solves the issue thats too troublesome for regular usage.
Since I do not use Chromium as my primary browser there are no addons installed so I will use Chromium for configuring this router.

Might see if one of the add-ons in FF is causing the slow down and can be configured to allow any connections to the router when using FF.
Glad Chrome works for you.
Enjoy. ;)
