Title: Permissions get relaxed in NFS shares, this BREAKS things
Post by: chrisisbd on October 10, 2014, 01:31:15 AM
I have a DNS-320LW that I'm using for backups via NFS.  For the backups to work as they should the permissions must remain the same on the backed up files.  What's actually happening is that some actions (I haven't investigated in detail yet what they are) relax the permissions to -rwxrwxrwx, that's read/write/execute for all users.

This is BROKEN, it means that backups go wrong because the backup system thinks the files have changed and backs them up again unnecessarily.

Is there any way to stop the Dlink changing permissions?  Or at the very least can someone tell me what actions (through the GUI I suspect) cause the permissions to be changed?
