I have been considering buying this to serve as an alternative to the Xbox 360 wifi adapter. I have a DGL 4500 and I want to avoid using the Xbox adapter at all costs being as I would have to abandon N speeds for a much slower G or B. I am a floor and about 20 feet apart, so hardwiring anything to the router above would be quite annoying. Suffice to say I'm a noob at wireless networking, so I was curious as to if I would still be able to leave my router broadcasting N, and the Xbox would be able to connect to XBL through the 1522. The forums here have been a huge help to me already so I came for some more from the wonderful D-Link staff and users *sucking up* ;D

I currently have the same setup...working great for me. :) DGL-4500 fw 1.15 and DAP-1522 fw 1.02 The only thing you may have to do is adjust the antennas on the router and move the DAP a bit around till you can find a consistent signal strength and rate I fluctuate between 216 and 162 mbps.

Wow thanks, I didn't expect such a quick response. Well hopefully I can have the same results as you, thanks for the help ;D

I have the same set up as well.. although using latest firmwares (same firmwares others are having issues with) so I would stay with whatever firmware you're at until we get the kinks worked out. And yes postioning is key and wireless environment.

Well I received my 1522 today from newegg, got it up and running in less than 10 minutes. Honestly it was probably one of the easiest things to hookup, if not the easiest, on the network. Thank you all for your help, I'm very pleased with the setup ;D
