Title: Anyone having voip problems with DGL-5500???
Post by: jubanet on November 05, 2014, 07:08:36 AM
I just replaced a Linksys E2500 router with this DGL-5500, and my IP Phone (grandstream DP715) became fully unstable.
I'm running the latest fw version (1.12 b05) with SIP ALG turned on, and these are the problems:
IP Phone cannot reach the SIP server after a while logged in (even showing that the sip account is registered it doesnīt make and/or receive any calls.
The router does not recognizes SIP packages coming from the phone IP address, and says that the IP Phone is running game packages (or amazon video packages), I tried three types of IP configuration: totally dynamic, fixing the IP on DHCP server and just using an IP outside the DHCP range, but always got the same results, also tried to turn off SIP ALG but it have a worst performance, so I left it ON.
Phone is the most important application used on my network and I thought that the router will put itīs ip on the first place on "priorities" list, but this is not happening.
Does someone has any clue on how to solve this?
Iīm really thinking on going back to linksys router...

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

Reserve the IP address for the VoIP device then place this IP address into the DMZ. I use a ATT microcell and I haven't had any issues when using the DMZ. And I didn't disable the ALG option either, however test it out first...
