Title: DCS-5222LB2 video gaps :(
Post by: fourzeronine on November 05, 2014, 04:20:58 PM
Hey everyone I just picked up a DCS-5222LB1 and i like everything about the cam except 2 things...

First off, a more minor issue, is that I cant push to the nas with a //NAS/folder as directed I have to use //192.168.x.x/folder

Secondly, the big problem, is that I have it set to record continuously but there is roughly a 1 minute gap in time between the end of the last video and most recent.  this is a pretty big issue, it cuts out about 1-2 minutes of time which could leave a lot of things out of the surveillance.  I want to pick up more of these but this is keeping me from doing so.  Any insights?  I will probably return it if I can;t get the problem solved.   :(

I've noticed a pattern.  It seems the larger the final video size the longer the pause.  is there some kind of buffer glitch?

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Perhaps it takes over a minute to move to your NAS. It takes about 1 minute to download the max file size 50 whatever from sd card.
*I'm talking over wifi. Not sure how you are networked there

Its connected through ethernet and my NAS benchmarks at over 600MB/s so no bottleneck there.  what ive noticed is the video is being written as its recording, so when the video is finished, the file size stops growing and there is is a long pause.  so it seems the camera is incapable of recording and writing at the same time... seems like a pretty big issue.  :(
