Hi! We have purchase a ShareCenter located in Office A. We have users in Office B whom want to edit the files in the ShareCenter via Public IP. I have assign the NAS with a Public IP and at my router I have opened the port 445. Unfortunately, I am unable to map the drive when I am in Office B where am prompted with error. When I telnet into the NAS public IP with port number 445, there is no response. But in the Local Lan in office A, when I telnet the ShareCenter local IP at port number 445, am able to get it. What I want to achieve is able to map the files from office B and edit the documents directly instead of using FTP. Hope that you can revert back to me urgently and thanks in advance.

What model DNS do you have?
What region are you located?
What Mfr and Model# is the main host router?

Is DLink ShareCenter DNS320L. The Router is ZTE. I have done the port forwarding at the router for port 445 and port 21. I have no issues to do the FTP for this NAS but not the folder mapping via public. I have searched from the website and found there is a tool call BitKinex for Windows 7. I have downloaded the tool and able to download the files from the NAS via FTP. But if I use the option Edit via BitKinex, there is an error message. Please kindly advise what is the alternative that I can use? My final objective is to edit the files in the NAS via Public IP instead of download and re-upload. Hope to hear from you soon and thanks in advance.

Have you contacted the Mfr of BitKinex and see if they have any help and information regarding it?

You can use Filezilla, that allows you to manipulate the files and folders.
