Title: DIR-850L Slow Wireless with Comcast
Post by: cullen505 on November 10, 2014, 08:17:40 AM
I've looked through several posts here and around the internet, and just want to see if I can find some help for a slow wireless, fast wired, connection issue.

First off, I have the Motorola SB6121 modem and the DIR-850L AC router.  Hardware on the router says A1 and FW is 1.10WW. Comcast Blast speed internet, which when wired gives me 58-60 MB on the Xfinity speed test site, and when wireless only 17-18 MB.

I'm not very tech savvy on the back ends of things like this, and am not sure how to proceed or if there is anything I can even do.  If there are any suggestions that might help me, I would be most appreciative for the knowledge.

Thanks.

Where was the v1.10WW received from? Did it come loaded on the router?

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.
