Title: Looking for HiFi to play music from NAS
Post by: pittnuma on November 11, 2014, 01:44:09 AM
Hi all,

I am looking for a way to stream my music to a Hi-Fi rather than have to have my PC on all the time or the telly, is there a way to stream to a Hi-Fi?
Due to going through a recent divorce cost is an issue so I need to keep that to a minimum.

Any recommendations? Basically I would like a smallish system with reasonable sound quality that I can happily leave on, whereas I do not like leaving the PC on all the time (due to it being a reasonable spec it is a bit of an overkill).

You'd need to find a streaming device that has network connect support and music streaming abilities, like Boxee, Roku, AppleTV or AV audio receiver. Something that can connect via network share to the DNS and stream directly from it.

Something like a Sonos Play 1?

From what I can see, that would do the trick, anybody have 1 connected to their NAS?

That might work. Might ask the Mfr of the device on the specific of it.

Sorry I don't have one.
