I'm on Cogeco 55/10 cable internet and my very old DGL-4300 gets 57.50/10.5 Mbps with Gamefuel/QOS ON but my 655 only gets 45/10 QOS on or off. All settings are the same like UPnP ON, WAN Speed 100Mbps, Unicasting ON, Multistreems ON, same DNS Server, using the same CAT6 cable. I didn't try any other FW in the 655 yet but may try 2.03 if I can't get any help. The 655 WiFi speeds are 42/10 and reports a 65M connection on both my laptops even though it's set to N only, 20/40 auto, WMM on, Short GI, High Transmit, CH11 fixed, Best Auto Rate, WPA2/AES. I can live with the WiFi speeds even though 1 laptop has a 150Mbps card and the other is 300. I just can't believe the 655 can't give the same speed as a 4300. I just got the 655 used 2 days ago and reset it and flashed the FW from stock 2.00 to 2.11NA and setup from scratch. In Canada. Any help please :o ???

Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48135.0)
- Has a Factory Reset (http://blog.dlink.com/what-is-a-reset-button-when-should-i-use-it) been performed?
- Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
- What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
- Is ISP Modem/Service using Dynamic or Static WAN IP addressing?
- Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Link> Cat6 is recommended. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAT6)
- Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask. Link>Checking MTU Values (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=53008.0)
Be advised, DLink Canada is reporting some issues with Cogeco ISP services:

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Besure to log into the Admin account on the router.
- Turn off ALL QoS (http://vonage.nmhoy.net/qos.html) or Disable Traffic Shaping (DIR only)
- Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual or under Setup/PARENTAL CONTROL/Set to>None: Static IP or Obtain Automatically From ISP.
- Enable or Disable Use Unicasting (compatibility for some ISP DHCP Servers) and test under Setup/Internet/Manual. Disable may help with speed performance on higher speed ISP services.
- Turn OFF DNS Relay (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=45143.0) under Setup/Networking. Link>Finding Faster DNS Addresses using Name Bench (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=53222.0) and input new DNS addresses under Setup/Internet/Manual.
- Setup DHCP (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=58017.0) reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting and maintain consistency for applications that need to connect as well as mapped drives.
- Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
- If IPv6 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipv6) is an option on the router, select Local Connection Only under Setup/IPv6.
- Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall. Enable or Disable SPI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SPI) to test.
- Enable uPnP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upnp) and Multi-cast Streaming (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multicast) under Advanced/Networking. Disable uPnP for testing Port Forwarding (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=4235.0) rules. Enable IPv6 Multi-cast Streaming for routers that have a Media Server option. Disable IPv6 Multi-cast Streaming if IPv6 or Media Server is not being used.
- Turn off WISH (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=40459.0), and WPS under Advanced.
- WAN Port Speed set to Auto or specific speed? Some newer ISP modems support 1000Mb so manually setting to Gb speeds can be supported by the router. Advanced/Advanced Networking/WAN Port Speed
- Set current Time Zone, Date and Time. Use an NTP Server (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48695.0) feature. The DST setting is only needed in the NA region. Tools/Time.
PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
- Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
- Turn off all devices accept for one wired LAN PC while testing.
- Disable any downloading client software managers, i.e. Torrents or similar.
Speed test wired LAN only. [/list]

OK problem is fixed. I did a factory reset and manually entered all settings and now it's up to 57/10.4 Mbps on wire and 43/10.4 on WiFi. :D

Glad you got it working. Sometimes a factory reset and set up from scratch is all thats needed.
Enjoy. ;)
