• What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL? ADSL2+ estimated 0.9km/0.55mi cable distance from exchange
• What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have? Billion 7800NL w/ SNR tweaked to target around 4.5 to squeeze out a bit more speed

I wasn't ever complaining about bandwidth loss.

I can't find my post but I recall saying my ADSL line rate/sync is 20000kbps, and I'm achieving a real world transfers via speedtest at 16-17mbps.  This is relatively normal as far as I understand factoring in overheads and the other usual losses in efficiency
