Title: DHP-540
Post by: narinesa on December 11, 2014, 06:59:01 AM
I have the transmitter and receiver.
When connected, all 3 lights would come on for about 10 seconds then the network light (middle) goes out.

I am testing the units WITHOUT any load (no network connection) just the two units to see if it is working - communicating with each other.
Do I need to add the load (connections) before testing ?
(Adding the load is a big job because the unit is on a utility pole and I have to mount a dahua ptz camera).

Also, will this unit work in outdoor heat ?
It is mounted in a weather proof box.

It's recommended to test the units with a device connected to the DHP. It maybe the correct indication that if the middle light goes out, that there is nothing connected. Review the user manual for LED indication information and environment condition support. It may not be good to have it operation with out proper ventilation.

Outdoor temp is generally 90 degrees.

I have it mounted in a plastic utility box. Do know how hot it will get in the utility box.
Any other options for the heat ?

Ya 90F is hot and placed in side a box? It probably would get even hotter and not last long.

Look at the user manual for specs on operational temperatures, it should be listed towards the very back.
