Hello. Not too long ago while I was at my college dorm, I decided to purchase a wireless router and adapter for my computer because I thought it was time for me to learn about how wireless internet works. I got a D-link 615 router and Rangerbooster N USB adapter DWA-140. I installed the drivers for the rangebooster and that works. So I start fiddling with the router and everything seems to work out just fine. All the lights are on, I followed all the instructions the CD tells me, I set up my network codes, and everything just fine. My computer is connected through my old router which is called SpeedStream 5100 because the house I now live in for the summer has nothing but tiny telephone ports so I need that router to get an Ethernet port. I got the SpeedStream 5100 for free from my internet service provider SBC yahoo DSL. So the D-link is connected to the SpeedStream which is connected to a telephone jack in the wall. Everything seems fine until I try to do anything that has to do with the internet. My computer acts like I'm not even connected to anything. I check my connections and it says everything is connected. It even processes that there is information being sent through the routers, but I can't even go on google. It just simply states that I'm not connected to the internet. I think something is wrong with my speed stream so I disconnect everything and plug my computer directly up to the SpeedSteam and the internet is working. I can't really think of any reason why the D-link isn't connecting to the internet. Help is appreciated! thanks.

I,m using a DIR-615 connected to a DSL modem with no problems. Have you entered the user name and password for your internet connection into the DIR-615 setup. If not, go to the DIR-615 menu, ie: http://192.168.0.1 and click on the setup button, then click on the internet button. Select your internet connection type, mine is PPPoe. The below enter your password and user name. I address mode I use Dynamic IP and Reconnect mode is On Demand.
Hope this helps.

Sorry but in my first response I should have requested your revision, ie: C1, and suggested you download the latest firmware. Just a tip I had problems downloading the firmware for my revison C1 until I used Internet Explorer rather than Mozilla.

Check the network configuration screen on the router and "de-activate" the DNS Relay. The DNS Relay forces all web site url requests to be translated by the router instead of the DNS servers from your ISP. I seen this type of problem when the first DNS server is not responding correctly. It seems that the router does not use the secondary DNS server when in DNS Relay.
