Post by: citrons on December 16, 2014, 03:40:23 PM
Will there be OS X driver for d-link wireless ac1200 dual band usb adapter revision C? As far i see there is only until 10.9.* support in in the drivers.

Have you tried to install using the 10.9.x version on Yosemite?

It doesn't allow me to select anything to install.

Checked out the os x10.9 driver install .pkg and found when the checkboxs are disabled in installation wizard after calling a function which checks system version.
At first tried changing that to my versions 10.10.1 then package files back into a .pkg- didn't work.

Then found stack overflow article  (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11298855/how-unpack-and-pack-pkg-file)about unpacking and packing, but the example doesn't show for this case how to pack it back. So i unpacked the 3 recursive .pkg files with where in the main .pkg. One of them where kekt driver, other plist, third one the wireless d-link app. So  installed the kept, plist and app one by one by hand. I got the inspiration for that from the driver uninstall script, so with reverse engineering figured which files and where is placed.

Now in system preferences -> network i see d-link, but it is always disconnected, tried every port. Through usb 3.0, usb 2.0 hubs, nothing seems to detect that the adapter is connected.

This will need to be brought to the attention of your regional D-Link support office. I presume that new drivers will need to be developed. I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Send an email to local center, but no response.

While having issues with other hardware drivers on yosemite -  usb-to-ethernet adapter found out that that the reason the dlink adapter drivers aren't working is because of yosemite.

The old drivers still work, no problem, but are being blocked in Yosemite because they aren't "signed" properly, since they weren't re-issued for Yosemite. As "unsigned" drivers, Mac OS refuses to load them, saying they constitute a security hazard.

But later tonight will test it out to see whether the trick help or not. But if it does it isn't a long time solution.

Well, i'm 110% the the local offices here in Baltics will don't understand anything.

I don't get it why is email, phone buttons disabled? And live chat isn't live event chat!
So far customer service for D-link has disappointed me.  ???
Besides this forum, which might be fine for people having issues related to understanding the device functionality might be fine. But for this case seems like its not enough.

I think the next nearest region you should contact would be Russia or Ukraine...
