Title: QOS by device
Post by: padster72 on January 08, 2015, 12:38:01 AM
The UI for the 868L does not look that simple to me.

I want to set QOS to give priority to specific devices. For instance, top priority for 1 of the sky boxes, iPad and Mac, with lower priority on another iPad and 3 phones, lowest priority for another sky box and 2 PS3's. ( will be adding Apple TV, which I want high priority).

How can I do this easily?

You did upgrade using your regional FW version correct?

For rev A models, please review this for setting up QoS rules:

The best way is to use static IPs:

Its not recommeded to use static IP addresses for devices that need management and configuration by the router. If router features are needed to manage the router, use Reserved IP addresses with in the router default DHCP IP address pool. Then set up any router features such as QoS. Static IP addresses should be used and are commended for devices that don't need much or any router management and should be outside of the routers default DHCP IP address pool, not with in.

The best way is to use static IPs:

    • Give each device a static IP (Setup --> Network Settings).
    • Create a rule based on the IP.  For example, if your iPad has a static IP of 192.168.1.1 set the rule to apply to the Local IP range of 192.168.1.1 and select the Application Port ALL.
    • Repeat for all devices.
