D-Link VPN Router => DSR-250 => Topic started by: IanSmith on January 13, 2015, 08:42:13 PM

I run a server at home and get my Internet connection from my cable company via DHCP.
With my last router, I was able to specify my home DNS server to the DHCP server as the primary (so that the clients could navigate the house) while using the cable company's DNS addresses (received from the cable company's DHCP server) as secondary/tertiary to pass on the the DHCP clients.
Can I do this with the DSR-250? I recognize that the cable company doesn't change its DNS server addresses very often, but it does happen.

I presume it does. I would review the User Manual for this information...However if you are a home user, I wouldn't recommend this kind of router as its meant and designed for small or larger business class environments. There are home class routers that handle DNS features as well like the DIR/DGL series routers. You can set custom DNS with in them and the router will use it.
