Title: No picture in mydlink
Post by: thom88 on January 14, 2015, 01:06:20 AM
My cam works well using LAN / WLAN directly with the IP. But what never has been working is the mydlink videofeed. I use Firefox 34.0.5 on Mac OS X 10.6.8. Java loads, the buttons show up, the view area starts white, goes to light grey after some seconds and stays that way - no picture from the camera. I asked D-Link support already, but they are not helpful, always repeat the same link to a support page about Java issues, despite I already told them Java is working. ANyone having the same Problem?

Does your mydlink Lite app work?
Mine does not as of a day or 2 ago.

I think it is 100% related.

I can log in to the camera f/w externally with no problem.
I can use the app internally with no problem

Yes indeed. I can use the Android Mydlink Lite app and it works when connecting Wlan in my home, but not with mobile net, it simply times out.

I asked D-Link support, their suggestion was: "please check the port forward in your router. You need a port forwarding for port 443 and 80 to your camera. With the right settings you can see the videostream."

But it seems to me that can not be the answer. The whole reason for the Mydlink website is to circumvent the need for such port settings or else, if they are necessary one would be instructed for this by the SetupWizard. I suppose the support thinks this is about a direct connection to the camera. They mostly do not read the question well and alreday gave the wrong answers on other ocasions.

As for your schedule: I got the camera a week ago and already that same day mydlink was not able to open a video stream. If it is a general problem with the platform, wouldn't they have fixed it in the meantime?

Regards
Thom

Try again. My app is working externally again.

No change for me. Still nothing via mydlink website or via MydlinkLite app from the mobile network.

I have personally used mostly IE when accessing the MyDlink cloud and normally it works assuming that all the D-Link related add-ons are installed and enabled.

When selecting Tools -> Manage add-ons in IE the view in my PC looks like this:

Is there a similar way to check the add-ons in Firefox?

I agree with you that no port forwarding or similar stuff shouldn't be needed when accessing the cam via the MyDlink cloud and this actually the main reason I'm using D-Link products since my local ISP doesn't even provide public IPs.

I have no IE, its not available for Mac anymore. Sure, there is an Addons list in Firefox, but I thought mydlink only needs Java in order to work?

Well, I have no solution so far. Also from D-Link support, no further help. Now I also have problems connecting to the interface by IP. LAN or WLAN, same result. The connection often times out or does not establish at all. I can shut off the cam and sometimes it connects for some minutes. With all the problems this camera is having, I think I will send it back.
