The 810L hung overnight; internet service was gone this morning. The RG505n router modem did this twice so far when set to router mode; a third time, I had to use the serial port to debrick it.

I presume there maybe a configuration issue between the ISP modem and the 810L.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded on the 810L? Found on the routers web page under status.
I recommend trying a different ISP modem if possible or test the 810L router at a different location, i.e. friend, nieghbor or family.
I've had my 810L for a while now and works pretty good. However I have a stand alone ISP modem. ::)

It may have been the IPv6 pppv6 provided by hsiservice.net which hung the 810L, because the RG505n wasn't being used this time; it was using a Huawei HG610 modem instead. There is a chaos calmer openwrt experimental image for the 810L, but not a safe factory upgrade image.

Ok. You can disable IPv6 on the 810L for testing if you don't need it.

I'll run the 810L a few more days to see if it hangs again. I got the raspberry pi to add IPV6 onto the LAN instead, by following this tutorial: http://blog.icewheel.org/2013/03/raspberry-pi-as-ipv6-router-in-home.html (http://blog.icewheel.org/2013/03/raspberry-pi-as-ipv6-router-in-home.html)

Kewl, keep us posted. Thanks for sharing the information.

The 810L is still going strong. The HG658b just came in from AliExpress, without WAN ping reply, so the 810L will be turned on again.

Good. I think we can call this one solved then huh? ;)
Enjoy. ;)
