Title: do not allow to connect to 1 particular site all in a sudden, help!
Post by: wilynmat on January 21, 2015, 08:12:31 PM
All in a sudden the router refuse to connect to my online banking.
I have 2 routers connected to my ISP (1 modem, 2 outputs), as soon as I switch to the other router (different brand), I just hit reload (IE, Firefox, Chrome all the same) and I can reach the site. Have not touched the d-link configuration at all before this. I have looked everywhere inside the configuration and could not find anything to change to allow me to connect to the site, any suggestion? BTW I use the same model (636L) router at work and there is no problem there reaching my online bank. Strange. Help anyone? Reset router performed, same result.

PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations

PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

Hi,

Thanks for all your help. I bought another router. With the same cables, connecting it to the same port of my ISP modem and it is working perfectly. There is something wrong with that 616L and I do not want to waste time debugging it. Thanks again.

We can presume there is a configuration issue with the router. Probably just needs to be set up and updated.

Good Luck.
