Title: Alternate SMTP Port
Post by: TheWitness on June 28, 2009, 12:51:44 PM
Hello,

Comcast.net runs smtp on port 110.  How can I change the DNS-321 to use port 110 over port 25?

Regards,

TheWitness

You cant.

Gmail is a non-option for this problem.  It requires TLS and an alternate port.  From the GMAIL setup instructions.

Quote
smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL)
Port: 465 or 587

Since Verizon has now started blocking ALL outgoing port 25 traffic, how is one supposed to use the email feature on the DNS-321?  Why can't this have an alternate port specification like the DNS-323?
