Hello again ;D
So i create a SSL VPN Portal on my DSR 1000N router. I have Access to the Portal and when i try to install the xtunnel.cab come a popup message with xtunnel.htm. I press the ok button but nathing happends.
The OS from my vpn Client is Windows 8.1, the Internet exporer Setting are ok.
someone have an idea or can help me?

- Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.

i tried with Internet Explorer 11, with the Setting to start the download from the file xtunnel.cab in a 64bit Internet Explorer process but i will tried it without my antivirus Software.
i give you some Information how it works.

Try 32bit IE as well and see...

yes now i testing with FF, Chrome and Opera. Always i get the same error message "Error, Virtual Passage Execution Failed"
I try with Internet Explorer 32 bit, i download the xtunnel.cab and commited the xtunne64.htm but nothing happends...
i have disable my antivirus Software and turn off my Firewall...
strange ... ::)

And does IE 64bit work? Or has the same issue?

I recommend that the next step would be to update FW if you haven't already;

ok, can i make the firmwareupgrade from remote over the web consoe because the router is not in my flat ist in a other district?.
After the Firmware upgrade the router lost the configuration how wan ip?.ist sure, i make a backup for the upgrade ;-)

IT's not recommended to remote upgrade as you will loose the configuration and any remote access. Please be wire LAN connected and at the router itself.

The router have the actually firmware but i get the same issue :-(
Do you use a 64bit OS? i have any idea :-/ why doesntn work it..
I try it on my other machine without a antivirus Software and firwall...
In Firefox i geht the same error message Virtual Passage Execution failed....

Maybe xtunnel.cab depends on Java Runtime Environment? So download (http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp) and install the latest Windows Offline versions (both 32 and 64 bit)

this was my first step to load the latest and both Java Version and install it. I have no idea and no plan why doesnt work it on both Notebooks with Windows 8.1 64bit.
i found many entries from the error message "virtual Parser execution failed" in Google alway from 64bit os with opera, ff and Chrome but no solution.
With the interner Explorer 64bit i get the message, i should activate aktive x and should take the side in the trusted sites of it, i enable all active x controls the site is under the trusted sites but nothing really nothing happends... :-(
whats is your os Setup? do you use a 32 bit os?

Look if this troubleshooting guide (ftp://ftp.dlink.eu/Products/dsr/dsr-1000n/documentation/HowTo/DSR-1000N_SSL_VPN_troubleshooting%20%20guide.pdf) may help you solve your problem. Not sure if the present version of xtunnel.cab still needs Visual C++ Runtime 2005 because this is Microsoft's oldest VC Runtime version, which may not be installable on Windows 8.1. The download link for VC++ inside the guide is invalid. Use this link (http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=26347) for the latest version instead and select your suitable language before downloading the files.
You may also try newer VC++ versions:
Visual C++ 2008: Download (http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=26368)
Visual C++ 2010: Download (http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=26999)
Visual C++ 2012: Download (http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=30679) (the first one that supports Windows 8.1 officially)
Visual C++ 2013: Download (http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=40784)

hello again,
i have the reason why Windows 8.1 does not work with the SSL VPN xtunnel.cab. Last Friday i called the Support Hotline from Dlink and spoke with a Support technician from the 2nd Level Support.
He told me, the xtunnel.cab on the Dlink Firmware doesnt work with Windows 8.1 or Windows 9.1 doesnt Support the xtunnel.cab from dlink., Dlink are work now at a solution, ist a problem with the ssl drivers so the Support techician.
i will try it with Windows 8 and give you a message.

We don't get any release date information on when future FW updates will be forthcoming. You'll have to keep an eye on your regional D-Link support web site to see when it's actually posted.

Not sure what I can say Sir. You have information directly from D-Link and since we are not privy to actual release date information here in the forums, we can't do anything else. If your wanting more information, maybe contacting D-Link on the phone and talk to level 2 or higher support might get you a bit more information. If not, then you'll have to be patient.
