Title: DIR-860L H/W Ver.:B1 - bugs and wanted features
Post by: momchil on February 13, 2015, 04:02:14 AM
Hi D-Link team,

Today I buy one DIR-860L B1 but I found bugs and missing features.

Wanted features:
 - WAN Ping response
 - option for change SSL certificate(I have my own domain name and certificate)
 - 24-hours time
 - PING and TRACEROUTE
 - table with DHCP IP allias(MAC -> local IP)
 - Wake-On-Lan capabilities

Bugs:
 - Network statistics not correct - graphics(Management -> Statistics)
 - DHCP Lease time bug. I set this time for 60 minutes but nothing happens. Reboot all my devices and router but my leasing time is always 30+years.

This is for 2 hours. If I found more bugs I will edit this post.

Sorry for my bad english. This is NOT my language. :)

Hardware revision of my router is marked in title - B1(with firmware 2.00).

I don't have any problem with my ISP(GPON connection) or with my location(Bulgaria/EU).  ;)

I need of bugtracker but I found only this forum.

Thank you for your information. The new Rev B model has a new UI and is similar to his models UI:
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=59563.0 (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=59563.0)

The new UI is a bit more simplified and doesn't have the same features as the Rev A DIR-860L. You may need to get into a Rev A if you need some of the additional features. We don't know if these features will be added later on or not. I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email. While posting issues in this forum is a great means and best way of sharing information with other members and notifying D-Link of issues, D-Link escalates issues for resolution based on the volume of calls received through the official D-Link support desk. If D-Link receives a large number of calls pertaining to the same issue, that issue is more likely to be escalated as a problem for investigation and resolution.

OMG...  :o
Contact with regional D-Link support office is useless(this is my experiеnce).
Any chance to contact(email) with software development team?

You can try email support if there is an address. It's best to you use phone if possible. Ask for level 2 or higher support. I'll try and forward this to D-Link. No guarantees.  ::)

Hi,
I will have to check exactly the changes and test these bugs. At the moment i dont have HW B. but what i found now:

Change the connector and button aligned order on the back panel.
New chipset solution
Change Software architecture for New UI
Phase in New GUI
Remove the ability to read device log on web management directly, but maintain Syslog and E-mail log support.
Remove Application Rule

Please try to contact to Support at Self Service Portal https://services.eu.dlink.com/home/main/SSPLogin.aspx?language=E (https://services.eu.dlink.com/home/main/SSPLogin.aspx?language=E)  ;)
