Title: Sharecenter Music App empty
Post by: ajdgilbert on February 23, 2015, 04:01:31 AM
Hi, Newbie here, in need of help!

I recently bought a 320l (my first nas) and managed to set it up with minimal fuss. The only problem I have is I have no idea of how to copy files into the Sharecenter Music app, I have tried everything and asking, in my book, is failing, but I don't know what else to do!! I have got the Photo app to work fine by uploading from my nas but there is no option for this within the Music app.

Looking forward to some simple answers!!

Put your music in a folder on the NAS, then goto Application management, choose multimedia services, you then need to add the folder in your NAS to the multimedia shares. Should then be good to go.

Hello Pitnuma, thanks for your reply.

I knew I was doing the right thing!

I have done just that on several occasions, I have reset the nas, re-formatted the hdd and re-run the installation wizard, nothing seems to make any difference.

It occurred to me today that I haven't reinstalled the firmware so I might give that a go shortly. Its all very strange!

That didn't work either.

All of my files show in My Files app but not in the Photo or Music apps!

Hmm, not sure then to be honest. Sounds more like a permissions thing.

Have you contacted D-Link, I do find once you get hold of them they are usually pretty good.

Thanks again Pittnuma,

It would seem you were right about the permissions thing. I have spent the last couple of weeks re-ripping my entire cd collection and now it works like a dream. Yeehaaa.
