Title: Upgrade to DNS320L
Post by: TekDes on February 26, 2015, 08:38:11 AM
Hi everyone,

My DNS320 is in RAID1 and I want to move them into my new DNS320L.

Can I do something like this without loosing any file?

1.take out one drive from DNS320 and install it into the DNS320L
2.formatting this drive and moving all files from the remaining DNS32 drive to the new DNS320L
3.once moving is done take the second drive out and install it on the DNS320L
4.set up again RAID1 in the new DNS320L in order to have the two drive mirrored

I had the same plan...but after quite a bit of messing about I called the help line...

They told me the 320 and 320L file systems are suitably different and not compatible.
