Title: No Wireless Signal, help me set up?

Hi all!

Let me preface this by saying I am not knowledgeable at all when it comes to networking and I don't know a lot of the terminology I see used on forums, so if replies could be stated as simple as possible it would be much appreciated.

I am trying to set up a wireless network at home in a new room in the house. My ISP is Telus, and they gave us a 2 in 1 router/modem combo, and I also have a D-Link DIR-825. Both of these are around 1-2 years old, and were working fine until I unplugged everything and tried to get it all working again. Right now I have the router/modem combo from Telus working, wireless and wired, but when I plug in the D-Link router to the slot that says WAN(is this even the right one?!?!) on the telus router to the slot that says "Internet" on the DIR-825, I cant get a wireless signal from my D-Link!

The network is there on my list of networks, and I can access 168.192.0.1. On my D-Link, the lights that are on are: 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz, the power symbol, and the orange globe, which I assume is saying that internet is going to the D-link router. Even if I connect the D-Link router to the first LAN port, it still says no internet access.

This is an issue because the wireless on the telus router is really bad, I'm losing connection(and my mind) every 5 minutes.

Help!!

**If you need any more info just ask!
Also, sorry about double posting! I'm not sure what happened there...

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

The Orange globe means that there is a problem in getting a connection to the ISP modem or the ISP services are not working correctly.

Hardware Version: B1
Firmware Version: 2.02NA
Yes, I'm from Canada! :)

ISP is Telus, using DSL
Modem is Actiontech V1000H
My speeds are 20mb download and 5mb upload
Swapped cables, didn't work :(
I did not call the ISP but I used your link to check the values, only 1472 worked, the values above 1472 gave no response.

WAN status on router page:
Connection Type : DHCP Client
Cable Status : Connected
Network Status : Disconnected
Connection Up Time : N/A

IP Address : 0.0.0.0
Subnet Mask : 0.0.0.0
Default Gateway : 0.0.0.0
Primary DNS Server : 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS Server : 0.0.0.0
Advanced DNS : Disabled

"•For DSL/PPPoE connections on the router, ensure that "Always ON" option is enabled."
I can't figure out where the option to enable this is.

I don't know if the PPoE part is relevant to me and I will await a reply before I try it. Thank you for replying and trying to help me fix this!

**EDIT: After I swapped the cables again it took a second but now my wireless works again! I think I swapped a faulty cord for another faulty cord the first time.. Thank you FurryNutz for helping me fix this!

So were you able to get the router working?  ???

Your ISP modem has a router built in:
