Title: DIR 850L as "external network drive"
Post by: Lolpold on April 12, 2015, 12:50:22 PM
Hi,

My setup is a Netgear wnr2000v2 and a wnr2000rpt, I just got a DIR 850L from a friend who didn't need it.
I'd like to use the 850L's cloud storage together with my current setup.
First I thought that I would use the 850L as the base station, but the Netgear devices weren't to keen on repeating the 850L's Wifi...
So I thought of using the 850L as some external USB docking station when using the wnr2000v2 as the basestation.

Is this possible?

Best regards

Any Cloud storage and features on the 855L will need the use of the WAN port thus the 855L will need to be used as the main host router. You can use the 855L as a 2ndary wired LAN to LAN AP however Cloud services and features that require the use of the WAN port will not be used or enabled in this mode.
