Title: Dynamic DNS Settings
Post by: fzappa on April 15, 2015, 06:56:19 AM
Since the Dlink DNS isn't free for long and DynDNS is no longer free (and my renewal is approaching) is there option for inputting any but these two in my router? It's the NA version B with most recent beta firmware.

If you don't see any open fields in the DDNS drop down section or a manual option, then I would presume that Rev B maybe limited to what is preset in this feature...

The Server field can be blanked out, so I went looking into the help menu where it states: Select a dynamic DNS service provider from the pull-down list, or you may enter a dynamic DNS service provider manually.
From this I'm assuming  I can get another free service and set it up.
I'll report back on this.
Thanks

OK, worked fine. I opened an account (free) at ChangeIP.com. You pick from a list of subdomains and enter your hostname and if its available you're off and running. I don't subscribe to a hosting site so can't post a pic.
Now when my DynDns expires I can say so long to them.
