Title: Issues setting up Access Control - Website Filter
Post by: Amean1 on April 15, 2015, 07:03:08 AM
I have DIR-655 router with hardware version A2 and Firmware version 1.37NA. Router is few years old and has been functioning well. However I now have a need to put parental lock on my kids computers and phones and wanted to setup Access Control and website filtering. I followed the instructions and was able to set up Access Control  and added MAC addresses for my kids devices and added websites that I don't want those devices to be able to access which are part of the policy that I created. Unfortunately I am still able to access those sites that are listed in the website filter and not sure what else needs to be done to make this work. I rebooted the router after the change as well completely powered down my entire network but still unable to make this work.

Any help you can provide is much appreciated

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Besure to log into the Admin account on the router.

Give the information a try first. You should be able to correct the problem.

However regarding your ISP modem, be aware that your ISP modem may have a built in router so it could affect how the 655 configuration works.
