Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

I recommend that you have your ISP check the cabling going to the ISP modem, check signal levels going to the ISP modem. For DSL or Fiber service lines, ensure that the ISP is using good working phone or cable lines to the DSL modem and that the phone lines are filtered correctly. For cable Internet, RG-6 coaxial cable is needed, not RG-59. Check for t.v. line splitters and remove them as they can introduce noise on the line and lower the signal going to the ISP modem. I recommend having the ISP service physically check the lines going from the out side to the ISP modem. Connecting to the ISP modem could result in a false positive as the signal to the modem could be just enough to that point then adding on a router, could see problems. The router operation is dependent upon getting good data flow from the ISP modem and the modem is dependent upon getting good signal from the ISP Service.

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Besure to log into the Admin account on the router.

If this router is provided by your ISP or, owned and maintained by Jupiter Networks, they may be the ones to contact if they maintain and develop FW for this model HW. Even thought it may say D-Link on the unit, some ISPs maintain and develop FW for D-Link HW. You'll need to contact them and talk with them about FW and help and information regarding this. Putting OEM FW on it may cause problems or violate ISP use policies. Ask first about this.

If you need additional help and information, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email. We do not have FW resources here in the forums.

Let us know how it goes please.

Ok just making sure.

I recommend contacting your regional D-Link support office and ask about FW. I don't see any FW listed on there web site so I don't know where it would be located, if there is any: http://www.dlink.co.in/products/?pid=DIR-600M (http://www.dlink.co.in/products/?pid=DIR-600M)

Run thru the suggestions and see if anything helps. If not, and if any FW can be found and updated and you still exhibit problems with the router, then the router maybe faulty and would need to be RMAd or replaced.

Please use this for doing any FW updates:
