Title: Package that Allows Better browsing
Post by: tsgiannis on April 30, 2015, 12:14:54 PM
Hello i have a simple question
Is there a package that will allow to browse the network for other samba shares.
Right now besides my DNS-320 i a a router with usb sharing that plays nicely as samba client and an old 1tb USB_HDD and i would occasionaly to do some transfers form DNS320<-->router+USB_HDD

I am not sure what you are asking for here.  Where do you want to install the package you are looking for - your DNS-320, router or computer?

If you can see the router mounted USB hard disk in Networks in windows explorer (assuming you are using windows) then it should just be a D&D operation to transfer the files.  It is a little different with other operating systems but the principle is the same.

On the other hand, if you want to use the router mounted hard disk for backup then just use the external backup that the NAS provides.

Yes some clarification...is needed...:)
I am looking for a package-application on the NAS so i could do some file operations between NAS = router mounted USB HDD without the computer...
I haven't taken a look at the backup functionality...
