Title: Camera's are working - added a router range extender. NOT FOR SALE :)
Post by: mrsr71 on May 01, 2015, 04:04:43 PM
The title says it all. I installed a new router (tested OK with two laptops, one iPad, two iPhones, 2 TV's, one thermostat, & one BlueRay palyer) and for the life of me, I can not get these 6 cameras to work. (THEY ALL WORKED PERFECTLY PRIOR TO THE ROUTER REPLACEMENT) All have the latest firmware. I tried a Windows desktop, my MacBook, my iPad,  the Windows wizard, and the Mac wizard all to no avail. I can get a wireless connection but after disconnecting them from the router, which is upstairs, and moved them downstairs to their locations, they WILL NOT CONNECT  :-[ (Note: the router was set to 2.4)  I'm confident that someone on this forum has the patience and fortitude to make these work as designed  ;D

I'M DONE WITH D-LINK. I'll box them securely and ship them to your doorstep for free for $250 OBO. PM me for any additional info.

Thanks for listening...Dan

What Mfr and model is the new host router?
What Mfr and model is the old host router?

What wireless modes did are you using on the new host router?

We presume if the cameras worked on the old router and not the new one, there could be a configuration or incompatibility with the new router and the cameras may still be working as designed.

All hope is not lost. There's dead spots in the new router. I got them working temporarily until a new (again) router arrives 😁

Thanks for the concern 👍

IF the next one doesn't work out, I would recommend trying a D-Link DIR series router. They work well with DCS cameras...
There are a few in the AC1200 class that may work better for you:

Sure you wanna sell these cameras now?  ???

Glad all is better now. You might want to change the subject line.  ::)

Enjoy.  ;)
