I want to set up video cameras on my property. The problem is that I have traffic in the camera view area that will cause the cameras to fire on motion, and record data nearly all the time. Has anyone figured out a way to activate camera or cameras using a remote sensor? Maybe a motion sensor, or a driveway pressure mat, or a electronic beam that could then tell the camera to start recording without having to use the motion technology on the camera.
Thanks

Any chance of setting the angle differently to not include this traffic or is that even possible. There are no external sensors or devices that you can use with these cameras I think. There based ON all the time or adjustments to the sensors and how the cameras are pointed would be how they work.

Another thought. Is it possible to have the camera sending video all the time, but remote switch a recorder? Maybe one using Raspberry Pi? Anyone messed with this?

Maybe possible. You might ask the Pi Mfr for help and information on this. There maybe a D-Link DNS product that you might be able to set up and schedule a recording or capture during a certain time frame....Might check into D-View or Share Center Surveillance maybe an option too:
