Title: The DIR 510L Doesn't Like Complex Passwords
Post by: poisonivy0 on May 15, 2015, 12:04:29 PM
My 510L came today. Ive spent 30mins trying to get it to connect to my home network to test it out.

with my present password: 32!F6ZV!vRg19ACD (it doesnt work)
with a standard password: hello123 (it works fine)

Anyone else had this problem?

What happens if you try not as many characters? 32!F6ZV!vRg1

Hi FurryNutz
Hardware Version: A1
Firmware Version: 1.05
Yes '32!F6ZV!vRg1' works, '32!F6ZV!vRg19ACD'  doesn't work

Is the device restricted to a certain amount of characters?

ok Thanks Furry!
Maybe you can put a request in to the big dogs, to enable more characters in the next firmware update  8)

Usually 13 characters is about enough for D-Links home class routers and is sufficient for security policies.
