Title: Wierd Problem on DIR-600L
Post by: madshopkeeper on May 16, 2015, 11:17:59 PM
So I have been using my DIR 600L router for more than a year now, but recently I am getting this wierd problem. After being connected to internet for 2 hours or less, I would automatically disconnect from the internet. At that time I can not connect to anything from my desktop, which is connected by a LAN cable from the router. But the internet is OK, I tested it using other devices it works fine, the wifi works as well. Only thing that does not work is the connection for my desktop. It normally gets fixed after I disable wireless and reboot and then I enable and reboot it again, but doing it each time is pretty annoying not to mention it disconnects the wifi users for a while. So I was wondering if any one can help me with the problem or provide me with any information.

My internet connection uses direct LAN cable of static IP. It does not have a router

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Besure to log into the Admin account on the router.

Check your PC for malware or viruses.
Do other devices experience this same issue? If not, and only the one PC does, the possible there could be an issue with this one particular PC.

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.
