Title: DIR-655 and Buffalo NAS web access
Post by: johng_aus on July 03, 2009, 04:46:22 PM
Hi - I have a Buffalo Tech Linkstation Quad NAS attached to a DLink DGS-2208 which is futher attached to a DIR-655.  I am attempting to setup web access for the NAS using an option of "autoconfigure firewall", which is supposed to work with a UPnP device, but I am getting an error that indicates that the UPnP is not working.

Buffalo support suggests not to check the "autoconfgure" option on the NAS setup to disable PnP and to then to open up the UDP/TCP port 9000 on the router.  The "enable UPnP" box is checked in the DIR-655 setup.

Any ideas on why the UPnP will not work and is this the best solution?  If so, could you please direct me to instructions on how to open up the UDP/TCP port 9000 on the router?

Thanks!

Can I suggest you post over at smallnetbuilder.com? It would probably get you a quicker answer as this seems to be a more complicated network problem than a 655 problem. The guys there really know their stuff on the forums.

Having the same problem with a DIR-825.  (I also can't get bit-torrent to see the internet.)  Did you guys ever work this out?
