Title: Wireless shuts down
Post by: mendonsy on June 04, 2015, 04:49:06 PM
My DSR250N has been working fine for about 2 years. Recently the wireless will stop working about once a week. Nothing unusual shows up in the configuration. Rebooting the router seems to fix the problem (so far). The wireless is used occasionally, but not all that often.

Any ideas what might cause this??

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.

This problem seems to have gone away by itself, at least for now. There are no changes in the surrounding environment where it has been operating happily for the last two years so I don't think it is an interference issue.
Now I have a different problem however!. When I try to log into the to log into the router I get the following message.

"Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to 192.168.0.1. SSL received a weak ephemeral Diffie-Hellman key in Server Key Exchange handshake message. (Error code: ssl_error_weak_server_ephemeral_dh_key)

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."

What would cause this?? Is this router about to suffer a hardware failure??

I found an answer to the login issue. It is a new security thing that is documented here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1066238 (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1066238)
