Using this to try open ports in my DIR 655 router
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DIR-655/PS4.htm
I cop the boxes exactly as shown in the pictures
I name it 'Name1', I leave the IP address blank & I fill in th TCP & UDP.
When I hit save, I get this message
"IP Address for 'Name1" should be within LAN subnet (192.168.0.0)"
Should I enter 192.168.0.0 under IP address?
Or am I supposed to enter something different?

Did you follow all the steps? No idea. But it doesn't sound like it given your issues.
If so you would have entered set up a static ip for your ps4 and then entered that information on the Web page and it will fill in the test of the Web page for you.

- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
- What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
- What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
You have to input a device IP address for PF in the local IP address fields. So reserve an IP address for your device then input this same IP address into the PF rule.
Also disable uPnP if your going to use PF rules.

I'm on Charter cable & not sure the modem model.
I did not set a static IP. Is there no way to open ports on a DIR-655 without setting a static IP?
My DNS numbers were not in the ipconfig & not sure what to add in the Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) section when setting a static IP.
The default gateway was 192.168.0.1 and dns server was also 192.168.0.1 in my ipconfig
That can't be right?
I typed in nslookup www.google.com at the cmd & got two set of different DNS numbers from that, should I use them instead?
Under the 192.168.0.1 page in the Dir-655 status page under WAN, I also get two completely different set of DNS numbers from those.
I don't want to mess up & be without a connection again trying to open ports.
Also when I connect my phone to my network, will anything have changed or will I need to open ports for it to work?

Review this for DNS solutions:
- Turn off DNS Relay (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=45143.0) under Setup/Networking. Link>Finding Faster DNS Addresses using Name Bench (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=53222.0) and input new DNS addresses under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Having DNS relay enabled will cause DNS clients to receive a 192.168.0.1 router DNS address. If you disable DNS relay then you'll see your ISPs DNS or any custom DNS you set up on the router.
- Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual or under Setup/PARENTAL CONTROL/Set to>None: Static IP or Obtain Automatically From ISP.
- Enable or Disable Use Unicasting (compatibility for some ISP DHCP Servers) and test under Setup/Internet/Manual. Disable may help with speed performance on higher speed ISP services.
- Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall. Enable or Disable SPI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SPI) to test.
-
Can you determine the IP being assigned now, then in your router "reserve" that for the ps4. Then do the port forward to that IP and port.

THANK YOU!
I turned off DNS relay & was able to see my DNS numbers under ipconfig/all.
I followed the port forwarding & made a static IP, router rebooted & so far so good.
My tests speeds are still 65Mb down & 4Mb up. Same as they were before, only it seems my ping went from 1ms. to 12ms.
Thanks again, you solved my problem, I'm going to not mess with the rest of those options right now.
I don't want to mess too much with my router as long as it is working fine & nothing is causing problems.[/list]

Glad you got it working.
Enjoy. ;)
