Title: Wired Connection Dropping
Post by: keegan on July 04, 2009, 11:21:00 AM
I was really skeptical of the other notes about the dropped connections, so got a DIR-825. I can cause the drop consistently by just bringing up a couple of tabs in Safari. DLINK Support first told me to change some settings, then concluded it was a defective router. I got a new one, and the same thing happens. There is clearly a severe design error here. I'm surprised they don't do something to correct it. Not only is it frustrating for the consumer, but the calls to support and the returns have to be expensive to DLINK. I'm also surprised that the forum here doesn't get replied to or that the phone support personnel don't seem to be aware of the issue.

I feel your frustration as I am experiencing the same issues with dropped connections on both wired and wireless.  Tech support told me to throttle back the WAN to 10 Mbps and this reduced the number of dropped connections.  However what is the point of having a fast router and 20+ Mbps cable if you cannot use it?

I have been told to speak to level 3 tech support to try to resolve the problems!  What I noticed is over on dlink U.K.'s ftp they have 2.01EU beta firmware for the rev B1 already available!

Thanks for the information on 10mbit.  It helps those of us with the slower connections for sure.

Have you tried 100mbit fixed?  I could definitely see it being more of an auto detect problem than the actual speed.

I have a similar issue....
Could you tell me if you had similar symptoms as mine?

If you're using rev A and are having issues try the new beta.

Most of issues were addressed. Remember the code isn't final. This is to get users back to a working stable firmware. Please provide your feedback in the Beta board for 1.12NAb05
