A couple of weeks ago my internet seemed to start going down to all the devices in my home( wired and wireless ) several times per days for short bursts(~60 seconds). I contacted technical support and they had me re-flash to bios version 1.06( I was already on this version ) and also restore to factory defaults. This didn't seem to help. I have the syslog featured enabled and logging to my workstation which is hard wired to the router but the only traffic in there seems to be DHCP related. Today I ran a ping session continually in the background from my workstation to the router and noticed that when I loose my internet that the ping session to the router times out. So it seems to me that for some reason the router is hanging. When I login to the router after one of these events happen everything seems fine and according to the Connection uptime statistic everything has been connected for several days. I contacted support back but they had no answers and told me I would receive a call back from customer service in 1-2 days( which to me seems extremely lengthy). Has anyone here had a similar issue and had any luck resolving it?

3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.

Would you please edit that post and change the color RED font to PINK? Red is kind of hard to see with this forum theme. Thank you. ;)

How long have you had the router and how long have you had this ISP radio service?
The ISP being on 2.Ghz even though the router has 2.4Ghz, I wonder if there could be any interferences. Frequency is kind close. Something to look at.
Out of these devices you have, what devices support 5Ghz if any?
Camera System
Nest thermostats
IP Cameras
2 Printers
3 Laptops
2 Workstations
2 Tablets

You have quite a few wireless devices. Are they all connecting to the 2.4Ghz radio or any of them connecting to the 5Ghz radio...
You might do the following, Turn off as many wireless devices as you can and start testing with a couple or just high priority or devices that need access and see how the router operates. After a while, start adding one device at a time to see if the problem appears...
Also set IPv6 to Local Connection only...

I've had the internet service for about 3 years. I've had the router about a month. I don't think it's interference on the 2.4GHz because I have the router and wiress on channels at the opposite end of the spectrum. I've changed them a couple of times and it didn't make a difference,About 1/3 of the devices are 5Ghz. What's weird though is it's not just the wireless acting up. I work at home and I primarily use my workstation. I'm probably on it 10 hours a day. It's not using wireless and it's physically cabled to the router and it has problems as well. From my workstation here is what I see when I run a constant ping to the router:

Ok, can you do this same ping with ALL wireless devices turned off and all LAN wired PCs disconnected from the router and the ISP service cable disconnected from the router? Just use one wired LAN PC connected to the router and run the ping test again...I want to make sure the ping times stop fluctuating. Capture a screen shoot please. Then connect the ISP service cable and run the ping test again and capture a screen shot please. Then we'll go from there...
-
Well it doesn't happen on demand. It happens maybe 10 times per day. I went ahead and disabled all 3 wireless networks and I'll keep the ping running and see if another event occurs.
-
The tests suggested is to know if there are any issues with the router by itself...I want to ensure the ping times are good with out being connected to the ISP modem then with the ISP modem only.
-
Makes sense. Unfortunately since it reproduces sporatically I can't leave my network down and wait for it to happen since I have to be online working. I just took the wireless networks down and only left my workstation connected with ethernet and I did just receive a timeout from the router. So whatever is happening it doesn't seem to matter if the wireless networks are on or off.
-
Ok, so if the radios are off then something else on the line is causing something to happen...
Are all other wired connections disconnected from the router accept for your wired PC?

Yes that's correct the only connection to the router is my workstation. I would be interested in watching the network graphs available in the router when the freeze happens but unfortunately the web interface for the router is also not accessible unti it is once again pingable.
-
Ok if this is the case and it still hangs, Only think I can think of would be either something on the ISP line or some sort of other interferences...
-
Just wanted to update in case anyone else hit the issue. I got a warranty replacement from D-Link and the new router seems to be working fine with the exact same software setting as before.

Glad the new unit is working. Enjoy. ;)
