Title: My Dir-655 suddenly will not let me access certain websites.
Post by: Normal1 on July 26, 2015, 02:22:59 PM
My Dir-655 suddenly will not let me access certain websites. The two addresses belong to a website I am working on. Now when I try and go there the browser indicates Connecting... after about a minute it comes back with an error, website took too long to respond. I get the same result with all computers on my home network, even my phone. I NEVER had a problem connecting before. If I use my phone and data, not WiFi, it connects perfect. The only thing in common is my DIR-655 Router. Any thoughts? This is driving me nuts.... BTW, I can ping the addresses through the Dir-6555 admin screen and I get responses.

Or there is something about your website that pc browser doesn't handle. Have you tried access with a pc from another network? I think this because it appears to only be the two addresses that you " have been working on", correct?

Yes, I can get to these addresses from anywhere but my home network. If I hook the output of the Cable Modem to my desktop, poof all is fine. I backed up my configuration file, then reset router to factory defaults and then tried  to restore my configuration. Now I get an error that it cant restore my configuration. The message was something like values out of bounds.... So now I am really hosed. I am currently working just connected from Cable Modem to Desktop.

ISP - TWC - Cable 50Mb DN, 5Mb UP
Hardware Version - A4
Firmware Version - 1.37NA
Region - Southern California
MTU - 1500

There should be nothing about the website as I can get to all areas from many different places and Browsers - Chrome, FireFox, etx - no issues. I only have an issue when my DIR-655 is in the loop. Cannot get to them thru computer connected via LAN nor any connected via WAN (using DIR-655). But now . Does anyone have a guide to manually setup a DIR-655 from scratch?

What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

Do a factory reset with out loading the saved config file. Seen it where some config files are corrupt.
Do all devices exhibit this when connected to the router?

You can setup the router manually or use the setup wizard when you log into 192.168.0.1...
