Title: 3G support (on rev. B1)
Post by: Dr Fnord on July 06, 2009, 03:07:25 AM
Hello there,

I am trying to get my Huawei e220 to work with DIR-825. My country (Sweden) is not listed, but I happen to know all the relevant information (APN, dial up number) and so have proceeded to enter it manually.

However, I get no connection. Clicking "connect" doesn't appear to do anything.

I tried setting the DNS manually, but that didn't appear to make any difference.

I find the following in the logs:
Code: (Generic) [Select]
Time  Message
Jul 6 11:38:02 UDHCPD Inform: add_lease 192.168.1.2
Jul 6 11:37:06 1:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg0 type 5
Jul 6 11:37:06 Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Jul 6 11:37:06 Vendor: HUAWEI Model: Mass Storage Rev: 2.31
Jul 6 11:36:48 UDHCPD Inform: add_lease 192.168.1.2
Jul 6 11:36:40 klogd started: BusyBox v1.01 (2009.05.22-11:03+0000)

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

*bump*

Has anyone tried the DIR-825 + Huawei E220 combo?

Hello, i'm in the same situation. I bought my dir-825 few days ago and I tried to share the 3g connection, but without any sucess (my usb 3g is a Huawei 156g).

I discovered that the usb 3g is not beeing detected as a modem, but like a pen/cdrom (as you can see in the log), but I found some scripts to fix this, but I can't access do the shell.

I will continue to search about it.

I got the DIR-825 2.01EU along with a USB 3G modem (Option iCON 401) and I think I have the same problem. (When inserted into a windows box it first shows up as a cd rom from which to install drivers.)

Have any of you found a way to get it working?
