Title: Question about streaming
Post by: rc_bad8082 on July 06, 2009, 09:54:26 AM
I have two Xbox 360's I like to stream to in my house I have them both on a LAN right now both are plugged directly into the router and the router is also plugged into a D-Link Gigabyte switch which the PC I am streaming in is plugged into via cat5 as well with my WR54GS this set up works just fine but with my DGL-4500 it does not. I use Windows Media Player to stream to the 360s. The services are running my MacAfee Firewall is set to enable everything needed the pc will see the 360s I allow them in Media Sharing inside WMP but my 360's cannot detect the PC. Does anybody see what I am doing wrong or got any suggested setups? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

McAfee is profiling your hardware. Try removing it and trying again.

With many virus suites profiling is a common security measure.

I tried using Winamp Remote and TVersity to stream to my Wii but once the video goes to load up it just sits there. Everything worked just fine with my DGL-4300 but with the DGL-4500, I can't get any vids to stream to my Wii.

Don't quote me on this but there might be some 3rd party app or software that you can use to stream to the wii but never tried. I've heard of some where you have to pay but then again I don't use my wii to stream media, I use the 360  ;)

Yeah, I'm trying out all the streaming apps I can find to see if 1 works better. All seem to just get stuck right when they go to play the vid. It could also be the browser version on the Wii should be updated by Nintendo too. Time will tell if it works again.
