Title: User permission incorrect between Samba vs. Windows
Post by: polo189 on September 04, 2015, 11:37:30 PM
I've configured multiple users with different creditials and permissions on different shared folders.
It works fine when I use samba client connect to ShareCenter eg. I can login to specific folders with assigned user/password.
But when I use windows7/8 connected to ShareCenter, in Windows Explorer I can access all folders without any user/password prompt.

Is there any one facing this problem?
Please share and give me suggestions.

Any status on this?

Are you sure you arn't already mapped to the DNS when you use Explorer?

I don't think user permission is incorrect.
Windows remembers your name and password. That's why you always see all your files.
Open your explorer and type FTP://JOHN@DLINK-ABCDE
(replace user-name and server-name  :)  )
then a windows should open and ask for the password.
