Hi everyone
I am a new user of DCS camera and just finalize the setup of my cameras (DCS 935L)
I was wondering if it is possible to disable the admin account?
Why? I am a bit paranoiac and I think that hackers may know that the DLink DCS cameras come along with default admin account.
They just need to snif the Wifi and get access to the cam (I didnt see any option that lock the system after xxx attempts).
Thanks in advance for the replies
BTW, I am very satisfy by the quality of the camera.

No, Its the only way to manage any network device. It's how users can configure and set up the device. This normal standard behavior thru out the industry. As long as you put a PW for the Admin account you'll be fine. Just don't give it out. This goes for your main host router as well.

Can you write it up?
Is your password strong?
How would you get in to admin it if you disable admin?
Find an online wifi password generator.

HI and thank you for your replies
By disabling the account, I didnt mean deleting the profil.
For example, on my NAS, I created an "admin user" called XXXXX, with all the admin's right but the login name is not "admin".
The "admin profil" is still activated through this user.
In addition, on my NAS, the "admin user" is only working on the LAN. The access is not granted outside my LAN.
I only wanted to know if the same thing can be done on the camera but I understand that a NAS system has more functions than a camera.
For the password, I always try to put strong one with Capital letters, Digit, not under 8 characters, ...

D-Link Cameras and Router only have an Admin and sometimes a User named account that is static to the device. There are no custom accounts that can be added or removed. This is mostly used on NAS and Shareport services.
