Hey guys i cant remove folders on a pc using samba when i try to delete folders it says folder access denied you require permission from unix root user to make change to this folder but i can delete the contents inside the folder
-
Are you using a user account to access the DNS or the admin account of the DNS? Try using the admin account and see if you can remove the folders.
-
i deleted the folder from the web ui yes the user i used has a full access
-
Can you remove the folder using a Windows Explorer window?

Am I missing something again?
OP states whilst using SAMBA they cannot delete folders. SAMBA is network protocol allowing file/printer sharing.
Could it be that SAMBA needs administrative permissions to allow folder deletion?
I don't know SAMBA and therefore don't understand why it is used but the basics of it being a "network protocol" for file/printer sharing for me states it's not a "file/folder explorer"
Apologises to everyone if I'm wrong

I asked if he was using the admin account to delete the folder. I some cases the admin account is needed. Still waiting on feed back.
