Title: Create GitLab add on
Post by: madmorgan007 on September 21, 2015, 08:05:29 AM
Hi

I was wondering if you could create an add-on for GitLab as it uses Ruby, Git and MySQL the community edition.

Thanks

Very specialized software. Spent on its creation time itself does not pay off popularity. I for the compilation GitLab not taken.

Hi again,

Just how is this any more specialized than the other software you have on the nas add on list such as the Git, PhpMyAdmin and Ruby add ons ?? This application would bring all there three packages together into one useful application. I use my nas box as a source control server keeping all my git repos on. I think as the basic blocks are all ready there why not try and make this work, I think others might find it really useful.

Thanks

Don't quote me but I believe it means only a limited number of users will gain benefit from Gitlab - vtverdohleb is potentially a busy person and compiles addons as a hobby AFAIK and therefore (as my understanding) needs to ensure their valuable time is spent on the addons that will benefit the most.  Prime example Plex - there is an update but vtverdohleb hasn't the spare time to compile the update to work.

Hope you understand

If it is a simple task, why don't you do it? ;)
