I know.. I know.. I have searched for a list of some type in regard to "compatible" 2tb drives. All searches lead me to the same threads in regard to firmware, AFT support and so on.
I would like to know exactly what others are successfully using in regard to make / model. I would like to stay with Seagate if possible.
I have crashed and burned twice. I have updated the FW to 1.10, slid in the new drives, and they are not recognized. I have tried both Seagate and Western Digital. It may be that they were Sata 3 drives.. I just don't know.
Because I bought the drives from Amazon, I was able to return them with no hassle.
I just gave up after the 2nd attempt and started removing files no longer needed. I can no longer do that. I have to replace the existing 1tb drives with 2tb.
Can other users successfully running 2tb, 3 1/2" sata drives tell me exactly what drives they are using?? Please!

Yes indeed.. I understand the AFT drives.. I understand I need 1.10 firmware to format the drives. The drive list on d-links website is 3+ years old and most are not available. If they are, they are either used, or carry a price way too high.
Other users are using 2tb drives.. Both of my attempts have failed. As said, it may be that the drives I purchased were sata 3, maybe only sata 2 will work. I understand that sata 3 is backwards compatible but maybe not in a 323?? I don't know.
So, back to my question... What 2tb drives (make / model) are being successfully used in the 323 by other users.

In case anyone cares, I bought a couple of 2tb Hitachi sata II drives, not sata III.Worked right off the bat and did not have to upgrade firmware toi 1.10 to format them.
HU722020ALA331 is the drive model. They are new (not used). I got them on Amazon for 55 dollars each.

Glad you got them working. Seems like SATA 2 vs 3 is the key for the 323.
Enjoy. ;)
